It's amazing the number of Republicans that are coming to the aid and defense of former Democrat, Joe Lieberman. Senatorial hopefuls U.S. Rep. Mark Kennedy, the GOP Minnesota Senate candidate and Mike McGavick, the Republican Senate candidate in Washington join President Bush, Karl Rove and others supporting former Democrat Lieberman.
Waterbury Mayor Michael Jarjura is supporting Joe saying, "I'm disappointed the Democratic Party has taken ... a shift away from mainstream thought of the people of Connecticut to the more liberal left," he said. "I think what they're saying (to conservative Democrats) is, 'Guess what guys? You don't have a place our party anymore.'"
So, if Connecticut Democrats are telling conservative Democrats they don't have a place in the party anymore because Joe lost, does that mean Connecticut Democrats were telling "the more liberal left" of the party that they had no place for the 18 years Joe was winning?
When polls show as many as 66% of Americans oppose the George Bush and Joe Lieberman position on Bush's Iraq Folly, has "the more liberal left" taken over or has the American electorate finally showing the guts to vote its conscience?

One of the most disconcerting elements of this campaign is that the right-wing papers are also coming out in support of Joe Lieberman. The other day, the Washington Times had a half page ad for him.
They must protect their own.
